We created Talanome in 2011 as the first-of-its-kind Metronome catering specifically to Carnatic Talas. Built with a precision sound engine, it understood and utilized Carnatic tala structures and terminology.

Over the years, we've added many new features - other Carnatic Talas like Chapu Talas, adjustable pitch/Shruti, alternate Nadais, etc. We then made a Tala Creation Engine that allowed users to create *any* complex beat pattern. Using this engine, we added other, more esoteric Carnatic Talas such as Ashtottara Sata Talas, Mukhi Talas, and also non-Carnatic Talas like Hindustani Taals and Fusion Talas like those developed and shared by Pete Lockett, a world-renowned multi-percussionist.

How do you take a mature 13-year-old app and make it even better? We started with the basics - take all the knowledge and lessons learned, but start with a clean slate. Our Talanome version 10 has been rewritten from the ground up, with a brand-new, easy-to-use and intuitive interface, reimagined Tala Visualizer, completely revamped Audio Engine and a powerful new way to create any beat pattern in any genre - all while staying true to its Carnatic roots!

Sarvam Thaala Mayam translates to "rhythm is everywhere." True to that philosophy, Talanome aims to provide the musician with a plethora of Talas, both conventional and esoteric, ranging from simple to complex, Carnatic to Thiruppugazh, Hindustani, Fusion and beyond!

Talanome has transformed over the years. What started out as an elegant Metronomic device has now evolved into a trusted Tala Companion and a veritable Knowledge Base to boot! Every Tala and Tala Group has basic information available such as its structure and settings. We've also researched and added more content and demo videos to serve as valuable information not only for the newly initiated but also for the seasoned professional who wishes to delve into newer (or older) Talas!

Talanome lets you develop your k?lapram?nam and learn the invaluable art of following another's tempo which will help when performing (or training to perform) with other musicians/dancers.

    Talanome comes preloaded with:
    • all 35 Suladi Talas
    • 6 Chapu Talas
    • 28 Chanda Talas
    • 108 Ashtottara Sata Talas
    • Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna's Mukhi Talas
    • Pete Lockett's Fusion Talas
    • 7 Hindustani Taals
    • B.C Manjunath's Fibonacci Tala

Talanome auto-updates when new Talas and content are added. With its all-new Tala Creation Engine, you can also create many more Talas!
