Recabinet 4.0.3 – April 4, 2015
General
Transitional update to address bugs in previous versions.
Fixes
Bypassing Thermionik now works properly when re-opening sessions.
Screen heights smaller than Recabinet’s window are fully supported in all cases, using a scrollbar.
Tonal and level differences across sample rates have been fixed.
Amp models are now level matched using psychoacoustic algorithms, for much closer apparent loudness than before. You may need to update your presets accordingly.
The low frequency hum experienced in some versions of Pro Tools has been eliminated.
Known Issues
Linking and unlinking preamp and poweramp selections may result in level dips depending on the order in which elements are clicked. Until this is fixed systemically in 4.1, you will need to change the preamp to another selection and and back again after relinking a previously unlinked preset.
Recabinet 4.0.2 – March 18, 2015
General
Transitional update to address bugs in previous versions. A subsequent patch will be released to address issues in this version as soon as possible.
Fixes
Recabinet works properly in all sample rates, and has been upgraded to a mastering class resampling algorithm for all sample rates. This also affects third party IR import. As a result, the plugin sounds even better than before, but you may need to adjust your presets accordingly.
In screen heights of 768 pixels or less, Recabinet’s window adopts a scrollbar so that all UI elements are accessible. In the next major update, the UI will be completely redesigned so that no scrolling is ever necessary, so this is just an interim solution.
DC offset noise has been removed completely.
Recabinet now behaves properly with Reaper’s built in preset manager.
Known Issues
Linking and unlinking preamp and poweramp selections may result in level dips depending on the order in which elements are clicked. Until this is fixed systemically in 4.1, you will need to change the preamp to another selection and and back again after relinking a previously unlinked preset.
Bypassing Thermionik, then saving and recalling a session will cause no audio to pass through the plugin. As a workaround, you can re-instantiate the plugin and then load the preset created, or use an instance of Recabinet 3.6.3 instead.
Screen heights of less than 800 pixels but greater than 768 pixels will have portions of the UI chopped off. The screen height detection scheme will be addressed in 4.0.3, coming very soon to address minor issues in 4.0.2.
While level spike issues and unpredictable behavior in 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz sample rates have been resolved, there is a substantial (and unintended) tonal difference in these resolutions. *
In Pro Tools 11, silent audio will create a low frequency hum as output.
General
Fixed UI glitches that occasionally affected some users.
Fixed intermittent session load silence bug.
Fixed an issue where the internal preset load/save buttons wouldn’t consistently load settings for bypasses and mutes.
Ongoing update support for RTAS format has been officially dropped. Recabinet 3.5.1 is the final version of Recabinet for RTAS format. If you need to run the latest version of Recabinet on a 32 bit Pro Tools system, we recommend using AAX 32 bit in Pro Tools 10.3.7 or higher.
Mac
Added support for application sandboxing, to fully support Logic X and GarageBand X.
Fixed an issue where the installer was placing factory presets in the wrong folder. Use the included presets installer to install factory presets.
Windows
Fixed an issue where the AAX installer only installed to the 64 bit AAX folder, requiring 32 bit Pro Tools users to manually install to the 32 bit AAX folder. Now the plugin is installed to both folders.
EQ Bypass on each band of EQ is available. Simply click the toggle lights to enable/disable an EQ band.
All EQ and volume adjustments are now available in Hz and dB as tooltips when you hover the mouse over a knob.
All knobs in the plugin interface can be double-clicked to reset to their default positions.
Pro Tools
Fixed a bug where sessions in sample rates other than 44.1 could create warped audio output until the plugin interface was opened.
Cubase
Fixed a bug where high instance counts of Recabinet 3 crashed Cubase during repeated batch exports.
Known Issues
None
