A lot has happened since version 11. A milestone of Live-Styler had been the introduction of the bass components in version 12. Because of this technical novelty users were now given opportunities that no one would have thought of in 2010, because the Fluid version of the Live-Styler had been a technological leap already.
BASS is a component that allows one to handle SF2 sound banks and SF2 sound fonts in an ideal way. That includes not only the super fast reading of sound fonts but also the opportunity to assign effects to these sound fonts. Chorus and echo are included in the standard version, the FX additional model includes an additional 8 effects.
The possibilities of the bass modules have again been extended tremendously in the present version 14. A T2 and SD2 Emulation could be introduced, that will sensationally lead to a sound module being unnecessary for the Live-Styler. Different Mega Samples will emulate these instruments. The instruments necessary will be assigned to the style, Midi File or R1.R8 automatically.
Even OTS will be retrieved automatically with these instruments. Therefore a megavoice emulation is not necessary anymore. Now let's look at the changes in versions 12.9 and 14.
I conducted the following changes:
Every style can have its own speed for every part.
You can assign a certain speed to every part in the style editor.
The style can have changing beats for every part.
Tyros Emulation ONLY in combination with LS MEGA samples hard drive!
SD2 Emulation ONLY in combination with LS MEGA samples hard drive AND SD2 MEGA samples!
To switch between ASIO, WASAPI and Direct X in the SF2 settings does not require a reboot anymore.
New language: Swedish, thanks to Stig Arvidsson
New controller name in Midi IO: Mega samples for new instrument setting with Mega samples.
New instrument setting in mega Samples with unlimited entries basing on Cubase parse files. [*.mega]
Instrument setting prepared for T2 samples, SD2 samples, symphonic orchestra and solo instruments.
Changes to Music Finder, pre-listening now also included in *.pat styles.
Keycontrol now is operative on all Midi input ports. You can manage up to 4 keyboard entries SIMULTANEOUSLY.
If setup 1 is (A) => a) 2[x] the channels will be ignored; they will also be ignored for keycontrol- and keytranslate-entries. You can operate up to 4 keyboards SIMULATNEOUSLY with different channels. Keycontrol 343 will set style that is currently playing to beat 1. This is very helpful if one is for example working with an inexperienced singer.
New DVD with more than 600 Mega Samples for SD2 Emulation and Symphonic orchestra
New DVD with 128 WERSI GM sounds, 20 super accordions, some distortion guitars etc.
New VST concept:
Additionally 4 effect plug-ins possible for each R1..R8 and Accomp.
Additionally 1 master effect plug-in possible for R1..R8 and Accomp.
VST now has its own site from where you can access Midi IO settings as well as BASS settings.
Effct plug-ins and VSt plug-ins, as well as their Presets, are saved in Solopreset.
Leslie is integrated in the drawbar module (B4).
ASIO drivers are not longer necessary (but recommended), VST plug-ins can be uploaded via Direct X, ASIO and WASAPI. Switchover between SD2 engine and T2 engine (button on main page), gives real SD2 sound. New keydef functions: 345 Leslie on/off; 346 Leslie fast/slow
New button in setup: settings 1 (A) => clear instruments R1..R8 (delete all instruments from R1..R8) New button in setup: settings 1 (A) => show log (shows all instruments that are loaded in BASS memory)
New file T2& SD2.mega, that is a lot better organized now. (Thanks to Mr. Herbert Roth)
New megsamples available: 128 Atlantis GM Samples, 20 great accordions
In Midi you are now given the opportunity to redirect the output to the following channels:
1. SD2 Emulation
2. T2 Emulation
3. Soundbank (SF2)
4. Custom ( faculative SF2 output. Included: Wersi-GM.mega, T2-GM.mega, SD"-GM-BankA.mega) where you can generate the output instruments yourself.
5. Output directly to the hardware port (as usual)
The sound will inspire you.
In addition there are 4 VST effect plug-ins possible for each.
Furthermore the output ports will now be saved by name. Thus there will no longer be a displacement in the different Combo boxes.
New solo-preset design: More functions are integrated in the solopreset now. To minimize the time passing between pushing the solo-preset button and completion of the Live-Styler there now is a new module.
€žSelect preset items". You can turn all solo-preset functions on and off. Now you can decide yourself whether or not to load an entry for almost every entry. Time consuming solo-preset loading time is a thing of the past. In addition to the Yamaha engine there now also is a Ketron engine. You can load every previous Ketron style [*pat] including Audya styles. Also included is of course the SD2 emulation and for the Yamaha engine the T2 emulation.
But you can choose freely in order to give your accompaniment a completely new sound. It's logical that a Yamaha style with T2 samples will sound differently than a Yamaha style with SD2 samples. This can often be very interesting musically. The Ketron engine differs completely from the Yamaha engine. It can also load Yamaha styles. You will probably not notice any differences for the Yamaha styles, but find that Ketron styles offer very interesting sound opportunities.
There will be NO transformation into a Yamaha style when uploading *.PAT styles, unlike is being done in the Plus version, but the styles will be loaded to the Ketron engine right away.
The Live-Styler DOES NOT intend the editing of Ketron styles. For that here is the Live-Arranger, who will do so exquisitely. Here you can modify the volume and the effects of the different parts, as well as create completely new styles out of the different styles.
You can also create styles (*.PAT) from Midifiles.
And of course there are a lot of improvements that simply make working with the Live-Styler more comfortable.
