Piano Tuner

Piano Tuner is a 12-note chromatic scale strobe tuner and partial analyzer application that utilizes sound input devices such as built-in microphone, line in, and iSight.

Strobe tuners are extremely accurate compare to regular tuners with a needle or LEDs. The slightest difference between the actual pitch and the ideal pitch accumulates over time and appears as a movement on the strobe tuning meter.

Piano Tuner can be used by someone who wants to learn how to tune a piano by using a tuning lever and also be used by a professional piano tuner to help the tuning process.

You can now use the Partials window to figure out the cent offsets of the stretch table for your piano, or you can use the Partials window alone to tune your piano directly without a stretch table.

- Tuning: 12-note chromatic scale.
- Temperaments: Customizable (±50 cents). Supports Scala Scale (.scl) files.
- Stretch: Customizable (±50 cents).
- Meters: strobe, cent, and hertz.
- Range: 9 octaves. C0 (16.352Hz) - B8 (7902.133Hz).
- Accuracy: ±0.1 cent with the cent readout. ±0.1 cent @ 440Hz with the strobe tuning meter.
- Calibration: 349.000 - 499.999Hz (0.001Hz steps).
- Display: 88-key piano keyboard.
- Sound Back: plays a reference tone (sine, triangle, sawtooth, or square wave) at the ideal pitch.
- Hilbert Scope: visualizes harmonics impurity.
- Partials: displays the cent offset of each partial.
- Speech: speaks the current tuning status and the partials analysis information.

NOTE: A piano requires tuning, voicing, and regulation at least once a year by a professional piano tuner in order to keep it in a good condition.
