    This is a maintenance release fixing several bugs:

    1) Putting tuning presets files in any other location than the following repertory:
    ~/Library/Audio//Presets/Open-Tuning/
    Systematically crashed Open Tuning.
    These tuning files can now be stored anywhere on any disk.

    2) In some situations, Tiger won't create the Presets folder in the user library:
    ~/Library/Audio//Presets/
    Open Tuning creates this folder at first launch-time if it doesn't exist.

    3) The DLS Soft-Synth could sometimes appear as long vertical window with a green background at the bottom of the window. At each launch, DLS Soft-Synth is now correctly displayed at the last onscreen position of the previous session and with its correct size.

    News:
    [A] "Tuning Instances":
    1) The tuning preset format has changed for a new, stable and faster format. See "Fixed in 1.3" below for more details.
    An applet to auto-convert older presets file is available for free to all registered users.

    2) The mute/unmute Incoming Midi Channels setup (by clicking on each midi led) is now stored for each preset.
    For example, the provided "Violin Tuning Presets" file is setup for 4 strings instruments: the channels 6 & 5 are muted in each of the 15 included presets.
    Default: activated when selecting an Input Midi source other than Mute.
    (Midi setup, Snapshot content, {Master, Octave, Bend} slider values, are not storable in a preset.)

    3) When quitting Open Tuning, the last setup of each tuning Instance is now stored in a new preferences file called "Instances_Prefs".
    This pref file includes the 3 following parameters for each Instance window:
  • The last loaded tuning presets file,

  • The last preset number,

  • The last onscreen position.

  • At each launch-time, Open Tuning will automatically display the Instance 1 only.
    (Midi setup, Snapshot, {Master, Octave, Bend} slider values, are not stored in the pref file.)

    4) Added Cmd-O and Cmd-S shortkeys for loading and saving presets file.

    5) Some interface changes and improvements including a faster initialization at launch-time, and:
  • The Bank Name textfield label is now called File Name;

  • The Load button label is now called Open and associated with the Cmd-O shortkey;

  • The dBank button label to display the list of presets as text is now called Show;

  • The red led about preset writing activity is also used for file activity on Open, Save, Revert and Overwrite tuning presets file.

  • 6) Added custom icon for saved presets files. Was previously a blank generic icon.

    7) At last but very least: the 4 screws over the Instance interface were very used since their first release, July 2004. They have been changed for brand new screws! ;-)

    [B] "DLS Soft-Synth":
    1) The number of user patches is now unlimited. Was previously limited to 256 per file. The file format has changed and the older user patch files are not usable anymore.

    2) Added {Delete, Overwrite and Clear All} patch features.

    3) Added {Revert and Overwrite} user file features.

    4) Added Cmd-O and Cmd-S shortkeys for loading and saving patch file.

    5) A patch now contains the 68 following parameters:
  • Patch name,

  • Reverb On/Off status,

  • Pitch-Bend value (0-127),

  • Master Reverb Depth value (0-127),

  • Sound (1-226 all channels except 1-9 on channel 10), Volume, Pan and Reverb Depth (0-127) for each of the 16 MIDI channels.

  • 6) Some interface changes and improvements including a faster initialization at launch-time, and:
  • The green Reverb Depth pop-up number box is now continuously displayed in a smaller green box under the knob;

  • The User Patch label is now called Patch Name;

  • The User Patch textfield is now a standard Aqua textfield;

  • The green User Patch pop-up number box is now continuously displayed in a standard Aqua textfield;

  • The Load button label is now called Open and associated with the Cmd-O shortkey;

  • The Add patch white-blue round toggle has been replaced with a '+' square ice-metal toggle;

  • The Global Midi Led Activity at the middle-top of the window is also used for file activity on Open, Save, Revert and Overwrite patches file.

  • 7) Added help tags for each new interface element.

    8) Added custom icon for saved patches files. Was previously a blank generic icon.

    Fixed in 1.3:
    1) Instances: Open Tuning 1.3 brings a new, stable and faster format for storing the tuning presets. (The consecutive file size is slightly reduced.)
    In previous versions, when fast-clicking the goto left or right arrows or by typing Cmd+ or Cmd-, or when fast-sending Preset Change via standard Program Change from an external controller (software or surface control), the preset name and values were not always synchronized. This is now definitely fixed!

    2) For some reasons explained above, the preset file format is not TEXT anymore, meaning that these files are not directly editable in a text editor anymore, such as Tex-Edit. However, by clicking the Show button (previously called 'dBank'), the content of a preset(s) file can be displayed as plain text from inside any Instance.
    Font: Geneva
    Size: 9
    The displayed content is still editable in this window, or in a text editor via standard copy-paste. When done, an alert dialog is displayed prompting to Cancel, Save or Don't Save. By clicking the Save button, the modified content is only kept in memory, not written on disk. Then, click the Instance/Save button (or Overwrite) to really save it on disk.
