Artwork in media files is now handled by loading the artwork as needed instead of loading during import. As a result, the "Import Embedded Artwork" Preference has been removed.

Fixed various Movie Preview issues
Fixed an issue where previewing a movie, selecting a different asset, then adjusting the UI would cause a crash.
Fixed an issue where changing playback position of a movie while the movie was paused would not updated the image.
Fixed an issue where if the movie was paused, when resizing the movie preview area, the movie would not redraw until play resumed, and sometimes would leave artifacts.

Modified Session Save Functionality
Significantly modified the session save functionality to be much faster, use minimal memory during save, and create session files that are approximately half of the previous size.

Added a patch to workaround an issue where other apps may cause references to files on Audio CDs to point to the CD itself. This is only necessary on Mac OS X before 10.5.6.

Updated User Interface
Sound Grinder adds a horizontal wiper between the list view and conversion pane. Move the slider up and down to resize, double-click to open and close the conversion pane and option+double-click to reset to the default position.

In earlier versions of the LAME codec, it was necessary to add additional silence to correct an error. This was corrected in a later version of the LAME codec. Our MP3 support now only writes the additional silence if the LAME version is prior to 3.96.

Support for FLAC, OGG/FLAC, and BWAV formats
You can now import and export FLAC, OGG/FLAC and BWAV file formats and their associated metadata.
Support for MP3 ID3 Tags, Vorbis Comments, FLAC Comments, and Quicktime User Data
You can now import, edit and export MP3 ID3 Tags, Vorbis Comments, FLAC Comments, and Quicktime User Data as supported by the LAME MP3 and other codecs and standards. Additionally, when converting between formats, any equivalent metadata will be carried over to the output file.
Support for Digidesign file content
Sound Grinder now supports the retention of Digidesign specific content in AIFF, WAVE/BWAVE, and Sound Designer 2 files. This data includes region info, waveform overviews, comments and other text info.
Support for Finder/Spotlight Comments
In addition to standard metadata, you can now import/export Finder/Spotlight comments, and export processing information including: date, time, file type, codec, bit depth, and sample rate.
Updated Interface
Sound Grinder now includes new enhancements to the main window including: additional columns in the list view, support for loop playback and updated transport controls.
Playback with Preview
You can now hear the results of your conversion and normalizing settings prior to conversion. Simply select your files and press OPTION+SPACE to hear the expected end result.
New Logging Options
We have added a feature in preferences to "Log Errors and Continue Processing". Enabling this feature instructs Sound Grinder to attempt to process all files, even if errors are encountered. Any errors or other messages will appear in a Log Window. This is very helpful for large jobs where you cannot monitor the processing, but need to be informed of any issues that may have occurred.
New Enhanced Processing Engine
While previous versions of Sound Grinder were excellent, we thought we could do better! So for Sound Grinder 2.5, we have developed a new, enhanced processing engine, almost completely rewritten from the ground up to be faster, more efficient, rock solid and provide the groundwork for many future enhancements. We are confident that you will really enjoy this version!
