Data is now stored in a much more efficient format. If you're upgrading from a previous version, your data will be automatically updated to use the new features.

Lots of small interface fixes, performance improvements, and overall stability added.

"Get Tab For Selected iTunes Song" feature provides much more accurate results, which now utilize the song's artist, song, and album info.

Tablature Search feature now uses WebKit for native rendering on Mac OS X.

Song Jam now plays unprotected AAC songs again. Also, the Treble/Bass equalizer sweep range is much greater allowing fine-tuning of your music and to help single out specific instruments.

Metronome is now multi-threaded to enhance time accuracy. Also, 7/8 and 12/8 time signatures are now correctly counted.

Gig Manager and Web Manager are fixed to allow editing again (This error previously occurred on some newer iMac and Mac Pro models).

Many other small fixes and optimizations for Intel-based Macs.

Chromatic Tuner: Note - if the tuner is not responding to your microphone/sound-input, click on the Help button now located on the Chromatic Tuner window for details. Most third-party audio devices should now work properly.

Guitar Shed is now compiled using Mach-O for better performance.

Various fixes, optimizations, and interface improvements have been made to the entire suite.

The Chromatic Tuner (part of the Guitar Shed suite for Macintosh) is now a Universal Application, and will run natively on newer Intel-based Macs, as well as older PPC-based Macs too.

Now correctly quits when tuner window is closed.

Many 3rd-party sound input devices should work correctly now.

Accuracy of the metronome has been improved substantially.

Accent note is now played for the first beat (metronome).

Now supports protected iTunes Music Store songs that you've purchased.

AAC and Apple Lossless audio files can now be played as well.

ID3(v1) tags will be loaded if available to show Artist/Song title.

Song slow-down without changing the pitch is smoother, and offers a larger range of speeds than before.

Minor update for OS X 10.4.1 users.

Song slow-downer sounds much clearer. Pitch stays the same while changing song speed (For audio CDs and song files such as MP3, QT, etc.).

Chromatic Tuner adjustments. Note for older iMac users: if your built-in microphone doesn't work, try an external microphone plugged into your sound-input jack. We apologize for the inconvenience, and plan to address the problem ASAP, this is only a temporary work-around if you're having trouble.

Although this is only a minor change in version numbering (2.9.5), it includes many major enhancements and new features - and is a free upgrade for all current Guitar Shed 2.x customers. New features include:

* Ability to slow down any song or music on your computer, while keeping the pitch unchanged. This also now works with any music CD, without having to copy or encode it onto your computer first. (This is one of the most-requested features from our users). This feature requires QuickTime 7, and works for both Tiger and Panther users.

* Chromatic Tuner is much more responsive, and the sensitivity can be adjusted.

* Many additional Jam Machine background tracks and styles to play along with. Volume is also now adjustable.

* Metronome is much more accurate, and includes new instruments and custom timing adjustments.

* Guitar Tablature searching is much more accurate, and allows for spaces in song/band titles. iTunes integration is also improved (Allows you to find tablature for the currently selected song in iTunes).

* Gig Manager and Web Manger have been upgraded, and are much faster. Columns can now be sorted as well.

* Many other overall improvements, speed optimizations, and smaller enhancements.

Note for current users: This version uses a new method of storing your Guitar Shed documents. Please make a backup of your current Guitar Shed settings before using this version (User/Documents/Guitar Shed).

* Tab Finder search websites updated. Searching for guitar tablature by band, song, or keyword now works correctly again.
* Chromatic Tuner improvements, including a fix to quit the program when the window is closed (instead of via "Quit" menu).
* Tablature Organizer improvements.

Tab Search feature "Selected Song In iTunes" works again. (Found in the Tablature section). The results are now provided by a (better) source, and offer more accurate results. This feature gets the guitar tablature for the SELECTED song (Not Playing song) in Apple's iTunes.

Small performance improvements, mainly with the Jam Machine.
